United Community Networks.com was created to help communities to help themselves.
To use the internet to help communities locally, and help you
find what you're looking for quickly.
Since moving to Sistersville WV. 3 years
ago, I've met a lot of nice, caring people. A lot of these people
are talented, but never get a lasting chance to showcase
what they can do, in the way of crafts and hobbies.
It is unfortunate, that the only time
they get to shine in during a festival or event. I believe that
talented people should have a vehicle to promote themselves,
but not cost them an arm and a leg.
This internet site is a way for craft
persons to showcase and sell their wares on a level playing field
where everyone could see them. They could list themselves in
our "Business Listing"
section. Being an entrepreneur myself, I didn't want to exclude
the "odd jobs" person or the dog walking service, or
even seasonal leaf rakers. This site allows you to make some
extra money, no matter if you're 8 or 100 yrs old. As long as
you provide a service that someone needs.
Hard times befall us all. Sometimes we
need to lighten the load by selling some things around our home
that we REALLY don't need. Therefore the "Classified
section" was created to help the public get extra money.
This helps those that can't afford new things, get what they're
looking for at a great price.
In a economically challenged area, people
need information on jobs. There are people who do odds and ends
work, some are retiree's. This site is a forum for them to list
themselves as, "ready and available" to help others.
They don't have the resources to set themselves up as a full
fledged business. We make it easy for these people by listing
them under "Employment
Wanted".
When it comes to the businesses in our
areas, all of them would like to sell the products services and
goods to a wider audience. Outside of spending a considerable
amount of money for cable TV ad's and various radio stations,
it usually isn't financially do able. In creating this site those
businesses that are listed will have the benefit of being called
from a much broader audience.
Every business that list with us will
put a United Community Networks.com logo in their window.
In this way everyone is supporting one another to have a broader
market share, while being heralded by a signal advertising source.
It's the difference between shouting in a crowd for your children
and having the crowd shout for your children with you !
To further strengthen community awareness
we are advertising using billboards, business cards, flyers to
every home and business between Parkersburg and St. Clairsville
to start. While you do what you do, we'll be out promoting you
and your services, and stuff you want to sell. Having Movie times,
Recipes, Local news, events, school closing, delays, as well
as weather, we want to be the site you use for all the things
you are looking for.
We want local artist to send us art, cartoonist
material, poetry that's original. We want to give everyone the
opportunity to have a voice that others can hear and see.
My family has always tried to do things
to help the community and by creating this website, it will give
YOU the community, a chance to help one another. So let
us know what we need to do to make the site better for you and
for others.
